Libratherm offers 32-bit microcontroller-based Molten Metal Pyrometer models LMI-2014 and LMI-2018, which are designed to measure the temperature of ferrous and non-ferrous molten metals using disposable thermocouple tips.
The molten metal temperature measurement is carried out by dipping the TIP for 3 to 4 seconds. In this short measurement time, the accurate reading is to be captured. Simultaneously, the operator will be guided through the measurement cycle by audio/visual alarms for Thermocouple Continuity, Measurement in Progress, and Measurement Over. LMI-2014/LMI-2018 combines 3 independent Libratherm models (LMI-2010 + LRU-2010-4″ OR 8″ + LLC-2010) combined in a single enclosure. Additionally, both models are available with single-sided or double-sided display versions. The operator can view the readings from either side if installed on the ceiling.
Any error during measurement due to thermocouple open conditions is immediately detected and informed by activating the audio/visual alarm.
SPOT Measurement (SM): LMI-2014/LMI-2018 are designed to measure and display the molten metal temperature in a concise time interval (3 to 5 seconds). The pyrometer is rugged, reliable, field-proven, and very easy to operate. Users can select desired thermocouple type (R, S, or B) and set other parameters using the front panel heavy-duty keyboard. During measurement, the indicator ignores the slag temperature, and the Average or Plateau reading is determined using the advanced algorithm, the same is latched and displayed on the bright 7 segments 4″ or 8″ red LED display. The last 100 readings are stored in the built-in memory and can be recalled as and when required.
Added Features: LMI-2014/2018 has the facility to work with Single DIP Thermocouple TIPS (SDT) and Multi DIP Thermocouple TIPS (MDT). The system comes to READY mode whenever the new TIP is connected to the Lance or when the same TIP is reused for multiple measurements.
